In Vila Velha de Rodão take the M1373 to the king's castle Wamba and enjoy the Portas de Rodão from the belvedere.

You can also see it from the river and watch the birds that inhabit the Portas de Ródão, from  a boat, using the services of companies licensed to do so.

The Portas de Ródão (Ródão doors) are the expression in the relief of the transposition of a quartzic ridge by the Tagus river. The narrowing of Tagus valley at this location is due to the strong resistance of quartzite to erosion, functioning as natural dams. This form of relief and other geological data suggest the existence of a pre-Tagus that had run on a surface topographical above the current level of the ridge.
