• Originally, Vila Velha de Ródão pillory was at the former city square, having been moved aside in the nineteenth century. In 1910, it was demolished and rebuilt in 1936-37, next to the old Town Hall. The top is the only part of the original pillory, having heraldic motifs, with the Portuguese coat of arms surmounted by a frieze to crown mode, the coat of the village, an armillary sphere (the personal emblem of D. Manuel), and the cross of Christ Order.
