Trilho do Tua - Vieiro - Freixiel

Starting from Abreiro old railway station (Tua line), where trains from Bragança or Foz Tua once stoped, Tua - Vieiro - Freixiel trail joins the discovery of the historical and cultural heritage of Vieiro and Freixiel villages with the slopes built by the populations. Tua river and its valley complete the set. Among the cultural items, we can highlight the religious heritage of the two villages (chapels and churches), Vieiro cruise and Freixiel pillory. Believing that it is unique in the Iberian Peninsula, Freixiel old gallows is, by its originality, a place to visit. The two belvederes included in the route are places of excellence to understand the territory and for a restful stop while enjoying the landscape, one privileging the mountains and villages, the other offering a panoramic view on Tua river.
