Base Characterization

Borralha mines have explored essentially quartz veins with wolframite from 1903 to 1985. In addition to the veins there rare geological structures such as two hydrothermal breaches, one of which was explored. As surrounding rocks can also be observed the mica, Borralha biotitic granite. These mines are a landmark of the "race for wolfram" during the World War II (1939-1945).
It is located within a private proriedade, but the Interpretation Center can be visited. There are also 2 trails.
