About 100 meters from the road between the villages of Salselas and Vale de Porca. If you have an all-terrain vehicle you can access the site through the abandoned railway line, now a dirt road.
Base Characterization
-
Between Salselas and Vale de Porca villages, next to the abandoned railway, are remains of an ancient artisanal mining of limestone, interspersed in the lower units. Of particular interest is the rarity and specificity of these rocks in the geographical context in the region, the cultural aspects associated with its exploitation and geomorphological features, in particular the evidence of karsification, examples of which are the stalactites that can be observed on site.
Karsification - chemical and mechanical alteration of limestone areas.
Stalactites - accumulation of dripstone hanging from a cave roof.
