  • Tejus - Eventos & Turismo (Tejus - Events & Tourism) is a company specialist in touristic activities and events organization. It promotes several activities of nature tourism, namely walks, birdwatching and other activities, with special emphasis on those carried out in Paul do Boquilobo Nature Reserve (RNPB). This protected area follows a section of Almonda river, born in Aire mountains and flows into the right bank of Tagus, and constitutes a wetland with marsh characteristics, seasonally flooded by Almonda and Tagus rivers.

    Pedestrian Walk to Paul do Boquilobo Nature Reserve takes place daily (except on hunting days), and subject to prior registration.

    Starting point: Tejus - Events & Tourism (Golegã) or at the Nature Reserve Interpretation Center.

    Length: 3 or 6 km | Duration: one morning / afternoon

    Difficulty: easy (except when flooding)

    Price (VAT incl.): 10 € / person

    It includes: guided tour of the Nature Reserve, traditional snack with regional products, photographic reportage, personal accident and liability insurance.

    Note: minimum 6 people and maximum 25.

    Paul do Boquilobo is the most representative aquatic ecosystem of inland wetlands, once common throughout Portugal, but suffered a sharp decline. With high biodiversity, birds are the main reason of its classification as Nature Reserve, having a large colony of herons, spoonbills and other species coming in from the African continent. Receives significant populations of waterfowl from northern Europe. It is an important area in autumnal migration of passerines and it occur or nest here some rare species in Portugal and Europe.

    It is also a Biosphere Reserve, being the 1st Portuguese protected area with this important distinction, a Wetland with International Importance under the Ramsar Convention and also a Special Protection Area for birds.
