Alforfa glacier valley and Covão do Ferro dam

Near Nave de Sto. António, The dam of Covão do Ferro or of Father Alfredo, was opened in 1956, taking advantage of a glacier circus and accumulating water from the Alforfa river. The construction was ordered by Father Alfredo to provide electricity to the wool industry of Unhais da Serra.

On the valley you can see Unhais da Serra village.
