Cova do Sono
Share Image
Monumental natural cavity developed on the cliff, also known as "Cathedral" (Cova do Sono means hole of the sleep).
This geophorm has an arcuate structure with roof-shaped dome, whose base is a small pebble beach. Its genesis is associated with erosion at the base of the cliffs caused by the continuous action of the waves; the erosion decreases in intensity from the bottom to the top, where essentially it is due to the action of weathering waters.
