Metelos’s Manor House and Tower
Share Image
Metelos’s tower, also known as Solar dos Metelos (Metelos’s manor house) has two distinct areas, one corresponding to the medieval tower, the other to the 16th century building.
Built in the 15th century by the Metelos, Lords of the Morgado de Valongo, the square-shaped tower obeys to the structure of the medieval towers, not having any defensive character, since at that time the towers were built as a mere manor symbol.
