The Moimenta water mills bear witness to an ancient art in the use of natural energy.

The walls are generally made of shale, the grinding mechanism is mounted on the top floor, the upper floor, while the waterwheel that makes the millstone turn hides in the bottom floor, the lower floor, where the water is driven through a stone flume or a simple hollowed trunk.
