• Located in Vila do Bispo municipality, Castelejo beach is surrounded by tall, dark shale cliffs, but the beach itself has white sand. North of the beach see Pedra da Laje, an area rich in fish and shellfish where marine animals take shelter.

In a valley platform, on the right bank of Barranco de A de Marinho that enters the sea near the beach, is Castelejo’s Concheiro, a proof that already in prehistory our ancestors appreciated the good seafood existing in the region.

In low tide is time to see the animals and algae that inhabit the rocks and can resist salinity and dryness.

To the north, the schists are covered by fossil dunes (lighter in color) proof of fluctuations in sea level.

If you like bodyboarding or surfing, enjoy!
