Fonte da Pipa (Wine Barrel Fountain)
Share Image
The name ‘Pipa’ is due to the fact the water pipe is inserted in a stone piece similar to a small wine barrel. Referenced since 1369, has been completely redesigned in the eighteenth century by order of Queen Maria I, to supply the Castle District. The tiles represent the mythological figures of Diana and Justice and also lush pine forests.
