In contrast to the plain we are used to find in Alentejo, in this region there are some high places, including the hill of Sra. do Amparo (264 meters). Not being the highest elevation, position occupied by the hills of Alcaria Ruiva (370 m), Sra. do Amparo hill is, however, a singular element in the landscape of Guadiana left bank of. From the top, on the north side it can be seen two rocky outcrops: Guizo Pequeno; and Guizo Grande. At the base of the hill is a small reservoir, interesting for birdwatching (waders). This hill is a reference to the observation of several species of butterflies, during Spring and Summer perhaps because males move to the tops trying to find butterflies females beyond their territories.
