Percurso Barragens - Barreiro - Lamas de Ôlo
Share Image
This route allows you to see the dams of Cimeira (also known as Alvão dam) and of Fundeira. It reveals Barreio and Lamas de Ôlo rural centres, surrounded by agriculture fields and “lameiros” (seminatural meadows). It crosses a vast plateau zone, where heather and Genista tridentata predominate and herds of goats find its food. In the most favourable areas there are small birch and Scots Pine forests. In the lower part of the route, you can see Monte Farinha, with the shrine of Our Lady of Graça and the Teixeira stream cliffs. On the way to Barreiro, you can see large granite masses, shaped by winds and inclement weather, extending to the village.
