This bike paths is between the alluvial plain and the wooded slopes. A succession of industrial salterns, salt marshes and Carrasqueira water branch, on one hand, and agricultural crops, on the other. The birds are a constant presence in both ecological units. Flamingos, coots and waders occur in wetlands. The white storks can also be seen here, but prefers nesting in trees on the dry zone, a natural biotope for different small birds and birds of prey. The path is wholly within the Nature Reserve of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António Salt Marsh. The route begins and ends at N126-6 towards Cerro do Bufo Salterns.

    In Castro Marim, take M125-6, west direction (Altura), pass the bridge and turn on the 1st rural path on the left where the beginning of the route, where is the sign of the beginning of the route.

Points of Interest

This is one of the best places to observe aquatic birds. Visit it early in the morning or in the evening and enjoy the beautiful scenery. In summer, protect yourself from the mosquitoes.
 
In rainy days this route is impractical.

 - Faro - Via do Infante: A22 (exit in Castro Marim) or N125: N125-6 to Castro Marim;
 
 - Vila Real de Santo António - N122 to Castro Marim; 
 
- Ayamonte (Spain): A22 (exit in Castro Marim).
