Share Image
The route between Cávado river and the Atlantic ocean allows you to understand the two parts of Ofir sandbank: one facing Cávado river estuary with vegetation such as reeds and Armeria spp, and a rich birdlife (e.g. Black-billed Magpie, Great Cormorant, seagulls and the mallard); and another facing the legendary Fão horses (rocks in the Atlantic Ocean), spreading on the Ofir beaches and dunes fine sands, sprinkled with a mosaic of wild vegetation. These two distinct faces of the sandbank are separated by a forest with Maritime and Stone Pines extending to the trail southern end.
