• The trail starts in 'Monte do Paio' Interpretation Centre and allows the visitors to know the lowland areas and a section of the stream of Cascalheira, the central body of Santo André lagoon, and part of its banks. During the visit you can enjoy a great natural beauty landscape, with prime locations for birdwatching specialy some species characteristics of wetlands, for example, the Common Coot 'Fulica atra'. Route discouraged from November to March dute to the predicted flooding of the lagoon floodplain.

     - Santiago do Cacém: take the M261, which should be taken the direction of Santo André Lagoon, to the junction of Cascalheira. Turn left and follow to Brescos and Costa de Santo André by M544. At about 1100 m crossing Brescos turn left onto a dirt road, and move on to the end of the road.
     
     - Sines: follow the IP8 / A26 and at the 2nd roundabout, go north, in the direction of Santo André.
