• This paths is located between the alluvial plain and the wooded slopes. A succession of industrial salterns, salt marshes and Carrasqueira water branch, on one hand, and agricultural crops, on the other. The birds are a constant presence in both ecological units. Flamingos, coots and waders occur in wetlands. The white storks can also be seen here, but prefers nesting in trees on the dry zone, a natural biotope for different small birds and birds of prey. The path is wholly within the Nature Reserve of Castro Marim and Vila Real de Santo António Salt Marsh. The route begins and ends at N126-6 towards Cerro do Bufo Salterns.

In rainy days this route is impractical.
 
This is one of the best places to see aquatic birds. Visit it early in the morning or in the evening and enjoy the beautiful scenery. In Summer, protect yourself from the mosquitoes.
