• This route, with directional signs, has as points of interest to Fraga da Pena and the village of Pardieiros, the only village inserted into the protected landscape of the Serra do Açor. Fraga da Pena is a geological accident crossed by Barroca de Degraínhos, resulting in a set of successive waterfalls framed by riparian vegetation, creating a place of particular beauty. The vegetation deserves indeed a watchful eye, being made up of oaks, Portugal laurel, English holliesand a set of shrub and herbaceous species, some rare and some old English oaks (Quercus robur) and chestnut trees (Castanea sativa), as also strawberry tree (Arbutus unedo) of Spurge Flax (Daphne gnidium) and Green Olive Tree (Phillyrea latifolia) and False Olive (P. angustifolia). After Fraga da Pena the route turns left towards Pardieiros village that you can visit. This is the old way that the inhabitants of this village took to access to agricultural land of the Mizarela farm. Along the way you can enjoy a view of the valley. In days of clean air the horizon only ends in Caramulo. Return the main road back to the entrance of Fraga da Pena. Return the main road back to the entrance of Fraga da Pena.
