Porto Furado

Trail in the mountain, between Vilar river, that crosses the village, and the Andorinhas (swallows) river, in which is Serra Serrada dam. The landscape is deeply marked by granite outcrops with rounded shapes, emerging through a vegetation cover dominated by shrubs (heather, Genista tridentata, Halimium spp), also with areas of Pyrenean oak and birch, and by “lameiros” (seminatural meadows), occupying the riverbanks. You have the opportunity to visit both the dam and Roman channel of Porto Furado and the Castro Curisco rock art complex, testimonies of the ancient occupation of this territory. It has also panoramic view over the Sabor river valley and Nogueira mountain, to the south.
