Overlooking the sea, surrounded by pleasant gardens, away from the hustle of big cities, but a few minutes from Lisbon, Convento dos Capuchos (Capuchin Convent) is a must visit for those who love nature and cultural heritage.

The elegant lines of the Capuchin Convent establish an equilibrium with the magnificent views. From there you can admire Lisbon, Sintra hills, Cascais bay, Bugio, St. Julian Tower (Torre de S. Julião), Arrábida sierra and Espichel Cape. The building simplicity reflects the principles of the Franciscan friars, to whom the monastery was built in the sixteenth century. Fully restored by Almada municipality, the building is now used specially for cultural events, mainly musical ones, with emphasis on the International Music Festival.

    - Lisbon - Almada - exiting 25 de Abril bridge, take the exit to Caparica by A38. Before you get to Caparica, take the road on the left to Pablo Neruda panoramic road /N10-1. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit and keep on N10-1. Turn right to Lourenço Pires de Távora street. Take the first exit on your left and follow to the viewpoint and Convent.
