In the Botanical Reserve of National Forest of Medos (Portuguese word meaning "dunes"), located on top of the fossil cliff of Costa da Caparica, observation of flora and fauna, the contemplation of the place, the trees and their contours, the smells and the aromas, the sounds, the textures and cool breezes are trademarks of the trees Museum Way.

The forest have been installed by orders of King João V,  to avoid the advance of the dunes to the agricultural land on the interior.

  • Access from:

    - north and Lisbon - A2 take the IC20 to Costa da Caparica Town. there turn South (left) and enter the forest road. Follow the forest road until the Marisol roundabout and turn on the 1st right, then keep going and, a little before the detour to Fonte da Telha, approximately 50 m, turn right.

    - south - A2 take the IC20 up to the exit for A33. On the A33 continue up to the 3rd exit to Charneca da Caparica. When you reach the roundabout exit on the 1st right and continue until you find the 2nd roundabout. On the 2nd roundabout take the 3rd exit towards Charneca da Caparica. Continue forward, go past the 3rd and 4th roundabout, continue forward toward Fonte da Telha. A little before the detour to Fonte da Telha, approximately 50 m, turn right.

  • Take the opportunity and dive in the extensive beaches going from Costa da Caparica to Lagoa de Albufeira. Or do the path from the Interpretation Centre of Mata dos Medos (CIMM) at the Botanic Reserve of Mata Nacional dos Medos, by Fonte da Telha. In this track are included the following paths:

    - Path of the Tree Museum;

    - Path of the Arts; and

    - Path of Altinho do Mar.
