The Oceanographic Museum is housed in the Fortress of  Sta. Maria, at Portinho da Arrábida. It is located on the coast, between Setúbal and Sesimbra, allowing a close contact with the marine environment. Here, visitors can see the biodiversity of  Luiz Saldanha's Marine Park, which borders the Arrábida sierra, and of the entire region where it is placed. Here, you can known more about the studies and management of this marine space, aiming to improve public awareness and support the role that Arrábida Natural Park has in the region.

  • Access coming from:

    - North by N379-1, in the hills, follow the sign "Portinho da Arrábida". After about 2.4 km, turn right on "Museu Oceanográfico" sign. *

    - Setúbal, take N10-4, about 3.9 km later, at the junction, follow the "Hospital / camping / beaches" indication. Approximately 7.9 km after, turn left to "Oceanographic Museum". *

     

    *After, more or less, 900 m, is the Museum, on the right side of the road.
