Multipurpose space that welcomes the visitors, sales promotional materials and where are developed activities designed to improve awareness about this natural reserve and other protected areas in Portugal. The Centre is networked with others centers in the Iberian Peninsula, through the project "Museus Naturais" (natural museums).

 

"Monte do Paio" also includes other infrastructures beyond the Interpretation Centre: Experimental Center; Welcome Center; Scouts Technical Field; walking paths; animal stables; garden of odors and flavors;  "amassaria" house and bread oven.

  • Access from:

    - Santiago do Cacém: Take the E.M. 261, where you should follow the direction of Lagoa de Santo André, until the Cascalheira junction, Turn left and follow to Brescos e Costa de Santo André by the E.M. 544, about 1100 m from the Brescos crossing turn left onto a dirt road, and go straight on until the end of the road;

    - Sines: follow the IP8/A26 and at the second roundabout go north towards Santo André.
