The Montalegre Gateway, in Montalegre municipality, is one of the five entrances to the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The gateways are the visitor’s reception facilities, located at the main entrances of the protected area, in relation to the road network.
Visitors can watch an exhibition with general aspects of the region, as well as obtain information on walking routes and on the natural and cultural values of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. There is also has a small exhibition on some tree species existing in the territory of the National Park.
This gateway is located in the building of the Barroso Ecomuseum, thus gathering several interesting features.
