The Lamas de Mouro Gateway, in the Melgaço municipality, is one of the five entrances to the Peneda-Gerês National Park. The gateways are the visitor’s reception facilities, located at the main entrances of the protected area, in relation to the road network.
Visitors can watch an exhibition with general aspects of the region, as well as obtain information on walking routes and on the natural and cultural values of the Peneda-Gerês National Park. They can also visit the thematic exhibition 'Land-use Planning', in the notorious town of Castro Laboreiro, about the natural and cultural features of the territory of Melgaço, with special focus on the land history, organization and use.
The outdoor area is ideal to rest or to walk along the river Mouro.

Get to know Peneda-Gerês Natural Park a little better by watching the film about this protected area.Visit Church square (Lamas de Mouro), following the pedestrian circuit of Lamas de Mouro, departing in Porta.7 km from Lamas de Mouro, visit Castro Laboreiro. Featuring the brandas and inverneiras (temporary villages used in summer or winter to escape the rigours of the weather) and the Castle. Walk along the Megalithism trail of the Castro Laboreiro Plateau and get to know the plateau and its megalithic necropolis.
