In June 2018, this church was robbed and the images of Our Lady of Remedies that gave rise to the sanctuary and of Our Lady of Victory were stolen.
In this Marian shrine, the most Western in Europe, you have to descend to enter. See the chapel dug into the rock and tiles with scenes from the Virgin life. On the 3rd Sunday of October, “Círios” of the neighbouring villages come here in pilgrimage.
The landscaping is superb, with the karst landscape, the sea too often agitated, Berlengas Archipelago on the horizon (visible on clean days), seabirds and boats passing by.

- Caldas da Rainha (30 km) – N8, IP6 and N114;
- Cadaval (39 km) – N247-1, N247, IP6 e N114;
- Rio Maior (47 km) – N14, A15 to Óbidos. Exit 14 on A8 to IP6 and N114;
- Lisbon (102 km) - A36/A8, on A8 exit 14 to IP6 and N114.
Go around the city of Peniche on the right side (north) and head towards Carvoeiro cape (without reaching it), by Av. Mariano Calado.
