• Casa da Torre (House of the Tower)

  • Built in the early 16th century, it is an example of Manueline civil architecture, with decorative similarities to the Paço das Donas, in Fundão, of which it is contemporary. It will belong to the ancestors of D. Manrique da Silva, 1st Count of Gouveia, title attributed in 1625 by Filipe II.

It has hosted ICNF services and currently is assigned to the Aldeia Association which has an exhibition there and organizes visits and activities of environmental education only by prior appointment.

Similar to a tower (hence the name) has 3 facades, the most interesting being the one on the pedestrian street parallel to the Av. dos Bombeiros Voluntários, featuring a window decorated with vegetable and animal motifs.

On the main facade stands out a frame window decorated with animal motifs and a sill that rests on three anthropomorphic corbels.

The side façade shows a window decorated with vegetal and geometric motifs, as well as cables.

Next to the house there is signage. It is not possible to park next to the house.
