Placed in the old Saint Anthony's Chapel, a building which dates from the XVIIth century and for wich access is granted by Rua do Castelo.

Just after the earthquake of 1755 it substituted the mais church in its religious functions. It stopped being a place of prayer during the XIXth century, and it was used as a house after 1809.

At the end of the XXth century it was bought by the Council and transformed into this Museum dedicated to Saint Anthony who is well known and estimated by the Portuguese population because it is th epatron saint os sweethearts and of Lisbon. He is also known to be a good support on finding lost objects.

The Museum's objects were collected by the municipality or offered by local population. They include a set of images, paintings, carvings, books, coins, medals, pictures and other objects related to Saint Anthony.

    Take the A2 motorway. Take the exit at IC1 and then take N263. In Odemira, take the N120 that goes across Aljezur and take the first turn on the right (after passing through the Mercado Municipal). Continue through until you reach Largo 5 de Outubro and take the first turn on the left (S. João de Deus street). Turn again left to Rua do Gabão > Rua do Castelo and after minute it´s on your left side.
