The Melgaço Film Museum presents the items collected throughout life by the French Jean Loup Passek and donated to the city of Melgaço. Jean Loup Passek directed the film department of the Georges Pompidou Centre in Paris and was passionate by Portugal and Melgaço, in particular.

The museum has a permanent exhibition dedicated to pre-cinema, that is, the period that preceded the cinematograph of the Lumière Brothers, where visitors can observe various devices such as magic lanterns with their respective boxes and hand-painted glass plates. There is also the New World Room, where you can see and handle replicas of optical toys.

The auditorium shows films related to the theme of the temporary exhibitions.
