The Memory and Frontier Space Museum is dedicated to smuggling and immigration, moments of the recent history of Melgaço county.
In the contraband room smugglers’ stories are told and some of the smuggled goods are exposed.
Emigration is depicted in detail. Its causes, the preparation of the trip, the trip, the arrival and the experience in the host country are presented to the visitor, either through objects or texts and documents from that time.
