The Hydraulic Complex of Paredes do Rio is a traditional structure that uses water as a driving force. It includes a stomp - last used to make the burel (traditional woolen cloth) - a mill, a saw and an electricity generator.

Paredes do Rio still keeps a set of water mills and irrigation structures that made up the traditional irrigation system.

It is owned by the Peneda-Gerês National Park and is managed by a local association, the Social and Cultural Association of Paredes do Rio.
