Has collections of paleontology (9416 fossils, including trilobites and some rare examples and well preserved dinosaurs), mineralogy (900 minerals including some polished), malacology (1347 shells of bivalves and gastropods), petrography (544 rock samples, including meteorites, including famous meteorite Nantan - China - whose impact with the Earth was referenced in the documents XVI century) and a small specialized library.
The main attraction is a dinosaur the Braseodactylus sp, from the Chapada do Araripe (Ceará. Brazil), the only integral piece known until today.

The Museum is located behind the National Palace of Sintra or the Town Palace. Leave your car on one of the car parks in Sintra and walk to the Museum.
Access to Sintra, from:
- Lisbon - IC19 or N9 (the A5 / Cascais); or
- Mafra - IC30.

- Sintra line. There are buses that pass in the Sintra railway station and the historic center. From the train station to the Museum is 10-15 min walk.
