This building took the southern part of Vinhais castle wall and the tower of this medieval wall, located within the property, where today the chapel of Our Lady of 'Conceição'.
 
This house belonged to Lieutenant Horácio de Assis Gonçalves, Secretary of the Head of State, very influential in the dictatorship of Salazar, who built there his own "castle".
 
The walls now defend life in its purest form, helping to understand the natural values ​​that make the park a special place. 
 
On the 1st floor is the Park Interpretation Centre.
Downstairs there's a small library and a study room with access to new information technologies, a coffee shop and a small auditorium. From here you can go to the gardens of Casa da Vila and the chapel.
