Under the Mértola'S City Hall building, is the Roman Center of  Mértola Museum. After an archaeological intervention that has uncovered the remains of a Roman housing particularly well preserved, musealization project allowed to install a set of architectural elements, which help to understand the ways of living of the time.

  • Gratuito até aos 12 anos (inclusive) e naturais e residentes no concelho de Mértola. Bilhete geral (acesso a todos os núcleos) - 5€. Bilhete de núcleo - 2€. Estudantes e maiores de 65 anos - 50% de desconto.

  • Avoid the warmer months or seek shelter during hottest hours. Wear comfortable shoes since the sidewalk of the historic center is very irregular.

    Ask the Mértola tourist office map with the location of several museums in the historic center. Guided tours must be booked at the tour desk with a minimum of one week. The tour runs several museums.
