EVOA provides to the visitors a wide range of structures dedicated to knowledge and observation of wild birds. Located in the heart of the most important wetland in the country, Estuário do Tejo Nature Reserve (Tagus Estuary), the set of freshwater ponds and communication trenches, provide the birds, migratory and resident, a safe haven during high tide, when observation is improved thanks to  the pathways and observatories strategically placed.

  • By car

    Access is done via the gate of Cardal, next to the bridge of Vila Franca de Xira. After this point and for about 9 km on a dirt road, you can access the parking space of EVOA.

     

    ATTENTION: access to the wetland is reserved, there are gates that close after a certain time. Therefore, contact previously the EVOA and visit the 70 ha of tide shelter with suitable conditions for visitation without disturbing the birds.
