It is located at "Herdade da Mourisca", a marshland area, with saltworks and "montado", surrounded by land formerly used for rice production.

The Herdade da Mourisca (Mourisca Estate) and the Tidal Mill of Mourisca, Faralhão, is located at approximately 6 km from Setúbal, in the Natural Reserve of Sado Estuary.
On N10, on km 45, near the village of Alto da Guerra, turn to Mouriscas. Approximately 700 meters later, turn left, following the signs to Moinho de Maré da Mourisca; after 1.4 km, and after passing the railway line, you reach the village of Mouriscas; approximately 500 meters after, turn in the existing roundabout.
