From Cacela Velha you have a splendid view on  the Ria Formosa

From Cacela Velha village gets a magnificent view of the eastern end of the lagoon system of Ria Formosa. The 5 barrier islands and two salt marshes extend over 55 km. The lagoons are very dynamic systems and this, in particular, has undergone morphological changes as a result of the tsunami caused by the huge 1755 earthquake wich destroyed Lisbon.
