  • The cliffs of Espichel Cape are formed by a succession of sloping layers with more than 600 m of width, essentially composed of limestones, marls and sandstones, aged between 140 and 150 million years, corresponding to a continuous transition between the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods. In addition to the scenic value, the importance of these rocks, formed in several types of coastal environments, is, above all, due to its fossil contents. We highlight the dinosaur tracks, notably on Mua Rock and Lagosteiros beach.
