  • Discovered in 1985 by Mr. Joaquim Pena, following the dismantling of a limestone bench for the production of sidewalk stone, the Pena Cave - so named in honor of its discoverer - it's a very interesting cavity equity point of view, integrating the largest underground room known in Portugal (125,000 m3 in volume). From the top of about 40 m of unevenness, it opens to the look of who visits it, a magnificent underground landscape whose aesthetic aspect assumes an unusual dimension, through a huge profusion of speleothems.
