On Couce plateau, in the central part of Gerês mountain, are the most important:
- glacier circus of this mountain range (Coucelinho Covões);
- set of morays (laterals and frontals);
- glacial lakes (highlight to Marinho Lagoon); and
- small geological abrasion forms (polishes and grooves in granite).
Cirque glacier - amphitheatre-shaped basin with steep walls, formed on a mountainside by glacial erosion. In Portugal, when these cirques are filled with water they are known as “Covões”, the plural of “Covão”.
Glacier - mass of ice formed by the recrystallization of snow that flows forward, or has flowed in the past.
Moraine – rock accumulation deposited primarily by the direct action of a glacier.
