  • Faia d'Água Alta waterfall, an integral part of the trail with its name, lies just before the Lamoso river is integrated into Bemposta stream, a tributary of the Douro river. It is a knickpoint where is visible the capture of an old river network, by the current Douro river system.

     

    Reinforced by winter and autumn rains the waterfall of the rocky cliffs, with about 60 m height, surprises by the beauty and constitutes one of the most important natural monuments of International Douro Nature Park.

     

    Água Alta means high water.
