  • Cabeça da Velha (old woman’s head) is one of the ex-libris of Estrela mountain resembling the head of a toothless elderly woman. As in other blocks in this mountain, these curious shapes are natural and result from the alteration and erosion of granite. This block has the typical characteristics of Seia Granite (with large white crystals). In the surrounding area you can see aspects of the granite morphology, namely in Senhora do Desterro, where the formation of cliffs is well expressed by block clusters.
