Access from:
- Manteigas (± 18 km) - N232, turn left into Vale do Rossim. Pass Vale do Rossim and continue;
- Seia (± 19 km) - N339, without passing through Sabugeiro. Follow the signs Manteigas / Penhas Douradas. Continue on N232 towards Manteigas. Turn left into Vale do Rossim. Pass Vale do Rossim and continue.
The geosite is on a valley before the Lagoacho dam.

See here the biggest lateral moraine (almost 4 km) in Portugal on the NE slope of Covão do Urso, a succession of sets of "glacier bolt and coals" and enjoy the landscape of a typical glacier valley with U shape. Covão do Urso is a cirque glacier that is an amphitheater-shaped basin with steep walls, formed on a mountainside by glacial erosion.
