The European robin is a small and plum passerine bird, with a round head a long and thin legs. It exhibits a brown plumage on the dorsal surface, which contrasts with the big red spot that goes from his forehead to its chest, and with the white abdomen. The young are spotted and don't have a red chest. It can measure up to 14 cm long.

The European robin inhabits forest areas, bushland and urban areas. It is a conspicuous bird, highlighted by its appealing colouration and by its beautiful calls throughout all year.
