The Candidula setubalensis is a small snail with a flat shell, greyish white to brownish yellow, strongly striped, exhibiting approximately five smooth spirals, the outermost of these takes the shape of a keel. It can grow to be 4 mm wide by 10 mm long.

The Candidula setubalensis snail lives on sclerophyllous brush and Mediterranean woods in rocky areas of the Arrábida mountain range, in the Setúbal region, the only place where it occurs, which explains its name.
