  • Iberian Adder

  • Viperidae

  • The Iberian Adder is a small triangular-headed viper with a sturdy body and short tail. It has a gray or brownish color with dark zigzag spots on the back and a V-shape on the head. It has black or gray belly and a yellowish tip tail. It can reach 50 cm in length.

  • Occurs in low grasslands, meadows and small bushes areas, often surrounded by stone walls, near water lines or in forest areas. Usually avoids people, only exhibiting aggressive behavior if it feels threatened.

  • Varied diet, which includes small mammals, reptiles, amphibians and passerines.
