  • The Spanish festoon has a very appealing chromatic pattern, which explains its name, showing a light yellow background, with brown stripes and red dots. It can measure up to 4,6 cm span, being the female larger than the male.

  • The Spanish festoon lives in rocky and dry slopes and on the edges of groves, up to a 1,000 meters high.

  • The caterpillar of the Spanish festoon feeds on the leaves of the aristolochia plant and the adult on the nectar of plants.
