  • The Cobitis calderoni is a small fresh water fish with a long and eel shaped body, with dark spots on its flanks. It has three pairs of barbels near its mouth. It can measure up to 10 cm long.

  • The Cobitis calderoni  inhabits the bottom of rivers and creeks with well oxygenated water and a rocky or gravel riverbed, in the middle and upper sections.

  • The Portuguese population of this species is estimated to be more than 10 thousand individuals.
