  • The Southwestern arched-mouth nase is a fresh water fish with an elongated and narrow body and a light brown colouration with a grey tone. It presents a relatively small head, an arched and inferred mouth and same sized dorsal and anal fins. It can measure up to 15 cm long.

  • The Southwestern arched-mouth nase prefers to inhabit creeks and other small and medium sized watercourses, with weak or moderate current, intermittent, as it can occur in pools in the summer period, with shade caused by riverside foliage. Exists only in Portugal, in Mira and Arade rivers watersheds.
